I have for a more magical world. The story begins with a girl walking down a suburban street. She looks up at the moon and wants to fly. So, she does. She jumps off the sidewalk and begins to fly towards the sky and lands on the moon. The beauty is that she added a touch of magic to her evening stroll and something as simple as flying could bring so much beauty and wonder to this world.
I approached this idea through hand-drawn animation. I drew each frame as I felt it was the best way to present the story I wanted to tell. This is not a concept that could be as well represented through a camera, in my opinion. I also am very interested in hand drawn animation and would love to develop my skills further. I wanted to showcase fun and beauty in my GIF. I animated the girl to have an emotionless face while walking on the earth similar to our reality. When she looks towards the sky, slowly she becomes more animated with her hair blowing in the wind signifying her sense of wonder. Once she lifts off the ground and flies in the sky, she is twisting and turning in the air and is smiling and laughing. She magically lands on the moon and looks off in the distance with her hair blowing in the wind and admires the more magical world around her.
